Xbox live.....

Well ive had my xbox a couple of months and after installing a 250gb hard drive im now wondering i should upgrade to xbox gold.

Whats the best way to pay a subscription? should i do it directly through xbox live or should i buy a 12 month subscription from Amazon for £33?

Apart from gaming online are there any other advantages? Can i use the Sky plaayer or would i have to pay more?

Skyplayer is free if you already have sky

and I subscribe for 3 months at a time (£12 at game) and gold means you can download games & extra's, play online and that's about it (I think?)

I done mine from the dashboard recently , 24 quid for 12 mths with 2 free arcade games

i did mine of the dashboard the other week, buy 3 months get 3 months free with 800 points for movie downloads. had just bought 3 months from play.com so i'll keep this for when the 6 other months runs out.

Lots of sellers on ebay.  I think I paid £24 for 12 month last August. 

The guy rang me up a soon as I paid to check and them emailed me the code.

In all honesty, £40 isn't a lot for the service that is provided, however getting it at around the £30 mark is a steal for 12 months.

I did the same offer as spear, £15 for 6 months and 800 MS points.

Paid just over £30 (£32?) for 12 months and a free Kinect game, which I'm still waiting for... not bad as the game itself would have cost £35-£40
So basically got my sub for free and bought a game we wanted for the family anyway

If you are NOT a Sky subscriber you get Nowt unless you sign up for £15 a month iirc - monthly rolling contract.

If you are currently a Sky subscriber then it's all free.
