The picture was taken at about half past four in the morning and my knob was a tad flaccid.
For photographic purposes I needed a prop to prop up my floppy knob and thus had to resort to things I could find immediately in the kitchen.
So to maintain an erect appearance I had to slide a bog roll cardboard tube thingy (sourced from the recycling bin; I don't actually crap in the kitchen unless unduly possessed by draught Bass

) over the male coupling in leiu of an appropriate stiff shaft

Once my warty knob has been deposited in the actual car I can maintain its stiffness by using my hard shaft and a suitable collar. I can then put my left hand to good tactile use.
Maybe not as stimulating as Martin's flaps that he can finger and caress, but there's still a lot to be said for a bit of manual palm on knob action.
