We have a 52 plate 1.8 GTI. Recently it had an issue with its AC, it worked but there was an odd noise from it, (like a knock). The garage said it was tne AC clutch and replaced the unit for us. Now the AC doesn't appear to be working very well. We have noticed that with AC on, if the engine revs drop, the AC blows harder. When the revs climb again, as you drive off, the blower seems to decrease. In hot weather it is not as cold as it used to be. Tne garage say they have recharged the system, and maybe we should take it to an AC specialist!
Is this normal? IS there anything I should check?
