Firstly this was a nightmare to do and I wouldn't recommend anyone tried it at least without a lot of material.time and patience. I naively hoped to do this item in ONE   but ended doing it in Five pieces which require joins and overlaps
There are so many oblique angles going on around the fins and exhaust curves also unlike alloy metal (which you can shrink to shape) this you crimp or cut as in upholstery  It stretches just fine but don't shrink.

I'd like to thank my wife at this time ( a mean upholsterer!!) for holding the heat gun and preventing me at times from binning it! We give the job a 7 out of 10. Give me another and I'll make it a solid 8, now I know what I'm doing

Still way better than the standard factory crap, don't you think?

Looks great. How does it react to polish on it? I'm forever marking my diffuser and having to clean it, is the weave sealed? It's certainly something I'm interested in if it means that I don't have white polishing scuffs that I can't remove easily.

Exactly why im looking here too. I am thinking of just getting it painted like Am1W did with his the metallic gray the same as the lower front grill is done in from the factory.

Piano Black Gloss mate, that's my reserve choice ( next one if I can get spare parts) Can't think why they painted the front surround grey, no rhyme or reason. But black gloss as the R diffuser/mirrors/grills. That's the choice and believe me easier than wrapping.

They did the front to help the car look wider and lower. It was prob one of the last minute changes when it went back to the drawing board. As it was designed to be painted it had to be some colour so ended up gray metallic, most people don't even notice its painted.

I painted my rear diffuser the same metallic grey as the front bumper. It looks ace and glints in the sunlight. Looks 100% OEM.
Forgive the dirty tailpipes which have since been cleaned!

A great improvement, no question. I personally don't get the front grey surround seems out of kilter with the rest of the car to me. That's why paint wise I'd go for piano black gloss maybe (or CF  ) like the R's.

Of course that would mean removing the front bumper and EVERYTHING else to get to it

If I was you I'd paint it and maybe clear coat. A bl**dy sight easier and still a massive improvement, and easy to clean.
