Question to people with 18" wheels

I've bought some 18" wheels for my mk5 (woo  :grin:) and a mechanic I know said that mk5s with 18's can 'tramline' a bit and wander if you're not paying attention. Is this true? I've never heard of it before.

What a load of garbage!

The only difference would be the depth of the tyre sidewall. The width of the tyre would still be the same. The sidewall is more compliant on a 17" wheel, but to say that the car wanders if you aren't paying attention is like saying you will crash if you go to sleep at the wheel! :grin:

Bigger wheels with lower profiles can tramline a little more.
