I'm just back from a quick 30 min journey and my valver ain't happy.
on the way back i lost all power and she stutters/kangaroos when i put the boot down. I've recently replaced the lift pump to try and stop an annoying buzzing with no joy and am now wondering if my main pump might be a gonner. If it is the main pump how much am i looking to fork out? and any other suggestions would be most welcome.
Thanks

is the main fuel pump very noisy? my car also has this problem and also jumpes and hesatates . ialso bought lift pump from vw and made no differance at all . but if i keep the fuel tank past quarter i dont have the problem. but the main pump still buzzes loud. ithink we both need main fuel pumps mate.

get the fuel pressure checked. that will tell you the condition of the main pump. i have a noisy pump on my 16v but still has good pressure. but im not gonna change it till it does go totally
