mk1 gti 16v conversion how to do it??

hi ive just bought a mk1 1600 5spd gti and i havent a clue on how to and what parts i need for a 16v conversion out of a mk 2 golf any ideas guys? any info or sites helpfull will be much appreciated thanxs guys

I posted this in the MK1 forum, it covers the main points.

Use the mk1 engine mounts, flywheel and a 16v pressure plate with a 8v clutch disk. Your g/box will be OK, use a 16v brake master cylinder and servo so the dist cap and leads clear. Get a specialist 4 branch manifold from one of the tuning firms, shift the fuel metering unit to the drivers side and use the inlet pipework to match. You will have to mess about a bit with hoses and things, but if you get that far, you are almost there .
