Nice, but not far enough removed from the original mk6, a few extra bhp but more emissions, just doesn't make sense to me.

Agree, give it the power it deserves....

Having previously slated the Ed35, I must now eat my foot and say that I think that one pictured looks sensational.

But please VW, more power.

Well it does have the Edition 30/Golf R/S3/Cupra/Cupra R engine so a rechip breaths life into it.

But its all down to the curse of the R badged cars. Its been the limiting factor of the GTIs power since 1992. The mk3 GTI16V was strangled with engine timing so it did not upset the VR6 and its happened ever since.
If you want a more powerful faster 2wd GTI you have to buy a SEAT its been like that since the 90s.

Is this actually now coming to the UK?

Seem odd, its so late with an introduction?

and as you can actually get the black 19" glendales on a normal GTi now, does this suggest it won't be in the UK?

I've been told yes by VW and it was reported in Autocar that it would be here in a few months time.

But its all down to the curse of the R badged cars. Its been the limiting factor of the GTIs power since 1992.

But the R brand only arrived in 2003 - or do you mean the VR6? (I had to try hard to resist making a quip about front wheel drive )
