bonnet catch!

the cable for this has somehow snapped or unattached itself overnight!  :huh:
how can i get the bonnet open without the catch?

Turns out you get to the bonnet catch if you remove the VW badge.
Turns out the cable hasnt snapped its just gone dead loose i dont understand it :S

I suspect it has stretched if it has gone loose.

the outer cable had come out of the mechanism on the interior side so the wire inside wasnt taut, fixed now tho  :smiley:

yup, been wiring up a new stereo in my cabby today tho and that was a real pain ended up running some new wires through etc...  :laugh:

That's the only way with cars of this age, unless already done, always put your own wiring in if your adding something.  Even if decent wiring is already there, there's a chance it's been done badly.

i never had a handle in my cabby... just a pair of pliers...
i did buy a new handle, just couldnt work out how to fit it!

nope - never fitted it.. still have it somewhere, a load of mk1 bits moved to the new house :D even some stuff in wrappers... not had the cabby a couple of years now too! ha x
