mk3 weight isnt right on a mk1, the rods not the same length. if you are good with a welder this will be no problem for you though, or you could just strap a load of lead round the mk1 rod

I put one on my previous MK1 that i'd purchased from another mk1 owner, it seems that it must have been modified as it was fine. I have just checked the one I have now and it is too short. 

Ah well, i'll have to strap it on!
