new hood
« on: 30 March 2011, 18:48 »
I know there is a guide on the mk1 OC but I was wondering if anyone can suggest a good mk1 hood supplier.. who will do all the kit etc inc lining?

I know CQ's supply a fair amount... but they are quite pricey too

window frame from cq is 140 iirc which is good value for stainless steel, you need to do headlining with the window frame as on mine its tuckedin around frame

mohair is £191/£236 + VAT

tbh I hadn't seen the +VAT bit which changes things I think  :undecided:

i went and got a quote from these guys a couple of years ago.. they were charging about £635 for hood and headlining fitted

not too bad on pricing for supply http://www.carhood.com/volkswagen/

mohair £235
headlining £165
cables £26

I must say though that they had a very professional looking set-up and seemed to know what they were doing
