OMP MA1559 Lower strutbrace
« on: 30 March 2011, 09:52 »
Hi,

I've just ordered this lower strut brace:

http://www.ybracing.co.uk/images/medium500px/MA1559.jpg

It bolts onto the front horizontal pivot bolts on the subframe/wishbones and then comes forward onto the crossmember bolts near the front bumper.

I've googled and found a couple of old threads in various forums say it really stiffens up the front end and makes a huge difference.

But since ordering it I have found a couple of websites that say it wont fit a Mk2 with PAS?

Has any got one of these fitted to their MK2? Just wondering how close it gets to the power steering pump/pulley's?

Thanks

Not sure, best bet is offer it up and have a look when it arrives. I might take it off your hands if you're local to me and it doesn't fit.

Ok thanks Nick, although I should be to return it if it doesn't fit as they haven't stated on the site that it's not for PAS fitted MK2's.

I'll update when it arrives!

Just giong back through some old posts to update.

It didn't fit - power steering pump get's right in the way. I sent it back and got the 2 point one instead. Slight improvement in front end stiffness from 2 point lower brace - worth buying once you've done your bushes and top strutbrace.
