What brakes of my '97 GTi colour concept

What size of disc brake goes on the fornt???

not sure if it the 280mm disc or the 288mm disc

can anybody help??

all 8v GTIs have 280mm discs


before 95? 16v and vr6's have 280mm discs
after 95 16v and vr6's have 288mm discs

rear 16v and vr6 discs are 226mm







i always thought  the '6 had 288's from the outset.. not sure about a valver

Dunno what size my discs are on m6 96 16valver, all I know is they are round and that they work lol

I don't think all 8VGTis have the same size discs/pads.  When I replaced my 8v's front pads I had to go back twice before they gave me the right ones, and I read somewhere later that late 96 onwards had uprated brakes.  I think they are the VR6 ones.
