depends on which kind of auto changer you have, if you have the in dash one (above head unit) its un likely youll be able to get it to run on a sony head unit with out and adaptor of some sort, if you have a sony boot changer (i have one in my mk4 which i put in and connected upto the standard 'gamma' head unit, this needed an interface unit to do so) it will run on a compatible sony head unit, but you have to remove the interface unit. Ive just fitted an mp3 sony head unit to my mk4 golf, i removed the interface and the standard rca/bus cables fitted straight into the sony head unit.

hope this helps???

well for your sony bootchanger to work with the standard vw head unit it needs one of these (which it will have) it will be tucked away some where by who ever fitted the bootchanger (head unit end) but when you come to fit your sony head unit youll have to unplug the interface from the bootchanger plugs/leads, then they will fit straight into your sony..... sounds complicated but it isnt!!

hmmmm, is it a sony boot changer what you have??? sony ones have a think black lead (bus cable) and another black lead with 2 rca plugs on the end, and it will say 'sony' some where on the boot changer, to plug a boot changer into the standard vw head unit you need a 'square' multi pin plug, thats why any after market ones have to run through an interface (which converts from the bus/rca to the 'square' multi pin plug). im confused my self now??

lol
