Compounds/pads for indigo blue golf
« on: 27 March 2011, 16:19 »
Looking to machine my Indigo blue to get rid of the general swirls and light scratches.

What compounds and pads would be reccomended and how many stages

Was thinking of one to cut and one to polish/finish?

However have seen 3 stage kits from menz and 3m

Would i need a 3 staege kit or would something like poorboys srr2 on a light cut pad finished off with poorboys blackhole on a polishing/finishing pad suffice?

Cheers.

Hi,

Will you be using a rotary or DA machine?

Poorboy's Blackhole is not a finishing polish, it is a glaze.

if its metallic i would suggest a 2/3 stage polish combo depending on how bad the defects are, if its non metallic i would suggest an all in one or a 2 stage again dependent on condition and how bad the defects are.

I would apply the ssr2 by DA with either a cutting or polishing pad or both to refine the finish,
Then use poorboys blackhole (have read this can be applied by machine to get a good shine)
Then finish with HD wax,

Or would i be better with a menz 3 stage kit?

Cheers.

menz 3 stage kit is better for german paints and are more effective tbh, you dont have to use all 3 as a rule,it all depends on the defects and how bad they are to start with.
