inner & outer clips differ.

if it makes it easier then take the whole seat out

with the door open have a look under the seat. you will see a small bolt at the front(where the adjuster slides back n forth) which prevents the seat sliding right back. take this out then slide the seat as far back as possible. you can then lift the whole seat out of the car!!

Well there are two runners per chair so that makes your 4 clips. And they are probably slightly different in shape for each side or the chair.

Right I've tried and I can't put the buggers on.

I can't see how I can slide the things onto the legs themselves without removing the legs from the runners. Then there's the issue of which clips to use where?? Like I've said there are different two pairs.
Does each leg require 2 clips meaning I only have enough clips for one seat?

You see it's never easy when I get near a car, especially something this complex - HELP.

As gambit says, you should not need to but it may help you if y do. And its easy peasy to take the whole chair out. Please dont say y cant do that either or we may have to crown you the most spanner shy monkey ever!

Firstly - Gambit, I wasn't being ignorant, I had read your earlier replies, I was just making sure.

Secondly - you can't crown me 'the spanner shy monkey' as I already have the crown, sitting at home.

I'm going to take the seat out, and then if I'm following correctly, I'll need 4 clips per sear, seems a lot to me, but I'm sure I'll pull through.

I have a feeling I'll be driving around in a seatless Mk2 before the days out.

If all goes well, I'll have the pics up soon also

Just weld a deck chair in its place. That way you wont need any clips!  Could start a new craze!

Im pretty sure you only need 2 clips per chair.

no worries.

yes 2 clips per seat. they clip in the back of each runner

if the worst comes to the worst i will get you a pic of the nut you need to remove to make the seat slide back!!
