This makes me happy stink. You are such a creative guy and neeed to award yourself by perusing a job in a creative field. There are so many creative people in my life who just accept that they are a little 'zainy' and therefore destined for a life of soft drugs, beer and factory work. It seems like the 'cool' thing to do.

Keep pushing dude

Have you considered registering with an agency of some kind? I hav a mate who has a daytime job and has registered with an agency to do photography work on the weekends. It has been quite lucrative so far.

I think you'll find all photographer operate on an self employed/freelance basis, that might be a better option for you.

its how im currently working, have a couple of paid shoots but nothing massive in teh way of people ringing / msg me off the hook and alot of models etc generally either want TFP or to pay them!

I shoot when I can the think with my current job it does take up some wkends and evenings which means it stops me shooting as much as id like

we will see

Get some "tasteful nude" shots   in amatuer photgrapher and the world is your oyster.

YEAH BABY!.

1. Do a charity calender  (good portfolio & commercial nouse)
2. Get matey with a printer and make a book - sell on ebay, promote on local radio etc..get KNOWN.
3. Gets some shots of Talisa and flog to the Daily Star.
4. Do FREE promo shots for local up and coming bands - own the copyright, KERCHING!
5. Get a "Press pass" and do shoots at local professional sporting events. Sell back or vai agency/press.
6. LOTS of schools/colleges now have end of year PROMS.  Get in there and do portraits.
7. Ask car show organisers to be an "official photographer", OR go, take pics, make book, sell to those who went/forum members.
8. Look on Amazon for the top selling "books with photos"  COPY the format/tweak.

So had an email yesterday from the photography studio I applied for a job at as the position has now become available

Now my first thought was Awesome. . . . . . . . . hang on this was only 3 weeks ago I applied and all of a sudden its vacant again?

I did ask why the job was free again and so quickly and they said that the person who they took on did 3 days and then decided it wasn't for them  :undecided: now to me i just find that a bit odd?

Any way ive got an interview on the 18th at 2pm in Bath here is their site http://www.capturethespirit.co.uk

now the only problem i really have is they have asked me to take along my portfolio, which is only online at the moment, im skint and haven't got a penny to my name unitl this coming sat where im working 9-2 and then recording after and all day sunday which doesn't really give me much time to go and get my images printed and get an album to whack them in etc but got to try and do it

I told my old man about this and although he knows I want to do photography he was a bit concerned about 'job security' which i agree with on him if the other guy on lasted 3 days, i cant afford to be out of work got to much debt etc that in my current job although i hate it, it is secure and pays ok

so yeah lots of things to consider at the mo but ill see how it goes, see what the pay structure is like etc etc all feels a bit scary tbh!

What's wrong with taking your images on a memory stick?

Just doesn't look professional and its alot easier to have a book / album that they an just have a quick flick through
