Think I'm going valver but looking into how to get the most from the engine, you can realistically achieve 180-190bhp from one. Still researching it though. What about you?

Yes you can but not easy and very expensive, cheaper in the long run to go 1.8t.

Yh that's why Ive never asked in the mk3 scetion as I know that this is the answer I'd get, an extra 10/15bhp would be nice

we will sort something out i don't mind travelling for a meet tbh i went upto manchester in october for a rolling road day at carbon chip tuning and i enjoyed that  i'm busy for the rest of this month but definately up for july i also want to get my car up together as its started showing its age abit now its been a hard winter

i suggest an abf conversion they are really good strong engines i havn't had one problem with mine yet apart from now i think it needs a sensor changing  to get 180 bhp your probs looking at atleast a head rebuild port and polish skimmed etc then could benefit from a lightened fly wheel and new clutch get a professional re-map a good exhaust system a good breathing cold air fed induction system and you could even get involved with itb's or throttle boddies

anyway much quicker and probs cheaper to get a s3 engine tucked in there  catch you soon

How did your car do on the rolling road?
Yh that seems like a fair bit of work for more bhp, not sure how much i will do to the engine tbh, just a rebuild and good service will do me for now. Yh an abf conversion would be much cheaper then an 1.8t as with a 1.8t I'd still need to buy an abf doner car as well as the turbo lumps and the custom looms part the list does on.

Yh some time in July sounds good as it gives us some time to organise

It produced a healthy 154.9 bhp which is better than stock its only got an exhaust system (with cat) and induction setup all standard apart from that i might get a remap done soon with a sports cat and replace the valve stem seals and hydraulic lifters as its abit tappy at the mo  i'm up for some time in july hopefully will have new wheels sorted and some of the small jobs that need doing done also
