De-Locking Doors
« on: 19 March 2011, 20:21 »
no doubt this topic has been raised before, but i found this link on how to do it, i think ive changed my mind, looks a bit of a ball ache i might not bother with

http://www.r32oc.com/tutorials-guides/4301-my-mk4-delock-guide.html

however, i already have the delock caps, ready to spray, do i need the metal inserts and the washer that that guy mentioned?

thanks

Yes mate, just find a 5 door at the scrappy and get the metal blanks from the rear doors

It's so easy to do, took me half hour. Just undo the screw behond the grommet in the door which holds the lock in place (don't undo it all the way or that's a whole different world of pain lol) replace the locks with the blanks, retighten and job done

yes mate that's essentially what the kit is

METALDISC is the part number for the small metal disc (duh) that gets glued to the lock actuator I think
