Warning lights
« on: 15 March 2005, 09:49 »
Are there any simple fuse or relay issues that stop my warning lights from lighting up - none of the strip of lights at the bottom of the instrument panel work. The handbrake light flashes sometimes (not always). My abs and airbag light function properly.

you mean just the ones that are part of the unit with the speedo/revometer on?

i'd assume it was a fuse if they're all gone.. on my old '96 polo my handbrake light went and it was a simple case of popping it out and replacnig a bulb ont he back.. cant remember where i got a new bulb from

I'll try the fuses - i'd have thought so other than the fact the handbrake light comes on sometimes! Is it normal for Golfs to rob you of every saturday with a piddly little job such as squeaks, rattles and electrics?

I bought it (Mk 3 16v) as a more sensible/comfortable replacement to a 205gti as spend a lot of time commuting. I've had more trouble (coil/squeaks/rattles etc) than i did with the pug (which used to drink oil but was otherwise sweet) and it aint half as good on an open road!
