what exhausts are available and prices
« on: 16 March 2011, 21:19 »
as the title says really just bought the missus a mk4 20v gti and she desided to keep her audi so i'm having the golf, the rear box looks a little tired to just wondering whats out there and how much, i think i would prefer a stealth style that hides behind the bumper like stock ones.

cheers mike.

Milltek Discrete is about £340 from roadrunner. Scorpion discrete are about £280 but never heard the Scorpion. I have the Milltek and its worth every penny. A mate of mine got a 2nd hand Milltek the other weekend for £160!

I've got a true 2.5" catback from powerflow with discrete tail pipe, I've had people compliment how it sounds, it's definately deeper sounding than my mates 1.8t but I think thats because the tip is facing the ground, but that also means it can be a bit boomy especially as I have a 3" decat and downpipe, but it's not all bad when accelerating slowly around town everyone can hear an unmistakeable turbo whistle very clearly.
All in all sounds droany when Im driving it normally (~1500 rpm) but when it's being pushed it don't sound bad at all can definately hear the wastegate open especially in a tunnel - it screams

yeah not to fond of boomy systems , just want a bit more noticable noise, my standard system is so quite i sometimes think i have stalled it.
