As i said before on the phone mate, the rear shocks are not as tall as the fronts, nor are the springs, the car should be level all round if you park on a flat surface, a fixed rate kit of say 40 mill shoulleave the car level all round but 40 mill down..

id say theirs some other issues if your car is not level, either that or your eyes playing tricks,

measure the bottom of the sill (to the ground - on level surface) just infront of the rear wheel and again just behind the front wheel. let me know the results

if you cant do this ill do it whn i see you

wrong. all mk4s are higher at the back. its how they where designed only way to get over it is to fit coilovers
I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

From the pics there seems to be a 15 to 20mm difference from the front to back?

If I use shocks and springs will the front still look different to the back?

I want them to look the same on each arch.

Only way is to get coil-overs to guarantee that

Do you think replacing the front and back top mounts first on my standard suspension might make the current standard suspension sit right on both front and back aches?

Then I would know if the drop would go right with the shocks and springs solution.

hmmm problems problems

I replaced the entire suspension on my old Golf and there was still a difference between the front and back

I replaced the top mounts, shocks and springs

If you can lighten your engine you might get it level

or put afew rocks in the boot

Maybe this is why then, cause mk4's fronts are lower then the backs.

Can you put a pic up of your car mate from side on? would like to see it out of intrest.

Can anyone confirm this, are all mk4's higher at the back then they are at the front?

If so, why are they?

Because their pretty gash.....

yeah but why are they? they are plenty of people running coilovers who like them.

You can't just say they are gash and then just leave it, why are they gash? for what reason?

Im running coilovers to attempt to make my golf handle and look better due to the back being so high. Its just how their designed. Their a comfy family vehicle more than a road race car like a GTI should be
