looking for a bit of help here.
battery died on my 98 mk 4 gti, couldnt unlock it with the electronic key fob so opened it manually with the key. got a jump and car started but now the alarm keeps going off and the key fob stll not workin.
first thought was to change the battery in the key but the old one was a CR1616 and nowhere had one. when i looked online it seems that it should be a CR2032 battery.
also seems that i might have to re-programme the key.
do i need to just replace the battery and if so which type is correct?
or do i need to re-programme the key and will this be a DIY job or will i have to bring it in to a VW garage?
