I've not seen any issues with the bluetooth module I have and the iPhone4. If it was even slightly rubbish, I too would have done something about it.

My module reports itself as the following:

Address 77: Telephone (J412)       Labels: 3C0-035-730.lbl
   Part No SW: 5N0 035 730 D    HW: 5N0 035 730 D
   Component: Telefon       009 0511
   Revision: --------    Serial number: XXX
   Coding: 020000000000000000000000
   Shop #: WSC 00000 000 00000
   ASAM Dataset: EV_UHVPremi A01005
   ROD: EV_UHVPremi_VW36.rod
   VCID: 295C7041F97F

I think I have changed the coding since then, but that's my module. Bought off fleaBay. Premium + A2DP.

Here is a similar one to the one I bought: http://www.bricarauto.com/product_info.php?products_id=93

Bump for my original question and also notice I don't have a "fader" option in my tone settings :(

Heard that this can be due to the unit being updated outside of the car.

Is this simply a case of VCDS coding or would a soft reset do it?

Thanks

Shows what to do and shows that you have to tell it what speakers are in.

My speakers weren't correctly coded so no fader when I installed. Needed coding for Dynaudio. Check with VCDS.

How do I check the firmware version and map version please? holding the set up key for over a minute and nothing - just the radio set up screen
Have a read here Adrian.

Step 14.1.2: Make sure that the car clock is set to 24hr, via the MFD controls. Remove the key from the ignition. Power on the RNS510 and then press the ‘Setup’, ‘Information’ and ‘Eject’ buttons on the RNS510 simultaneously. This will put the RNS510 into a forced firmware update mode and will allow downgrade and upgrade of the unit.

Thanks Geoff - have PM'd Darren to see if I can call over for a VCDS update session!

Will do!  Did a soft reset and the balance/fader option was there momentarily then it went!!

Thanks Keith

this should be on thelatest firmware and maps - just intrigued on how to check! Don't want to start the firmware update unnecessarily so will leave that bit for now.

Bluetooth install should be relatively easy :)
