you typed both references in the same sentence which to me and most normal people puts it in the same context, ie not a joke

Only comments I've ever said to you are re: your car and have been positive. If you're referring to comments I've made to others please enlighten me on what "forthcoming" comments I have made and what that statement actually means?

To you and most other people, come on wazzer you can stand this discussion on your own without needing others to back your opinion up?

I am simply making a a bit of banter on a forum about a car show that a car looks the same as another.

And now your making me out to be some pre-modonna where no one can do what i do? Get F****D trying to make me out to be some ass hole on here!

Taking ideas is something i don't agree with at all! I couldn't agree with tech more. Maybe i take this type of stuff more personally because i'm a designer, and i believe in the whole "original" route. Without "taking" others people ideas. I think there is a difference between taking someones idea and making it your own, and re-making something.

I just don't agree with it. If someone with a mk4 has some bbs lms and air ride, of course there are going to be others like it. Stanton's car is a complete custom build, with many different aspects to it. and this car is literally a replica.

I just find it heart wrenching, i am currently building my own project, and when it's finished i see someone else who has replicated the car i will be a little gutted, as projects like stantons are done to differentiate the car from anybody elses.

See what i loved about stanton's car was it was totally made in house and you could see that in the workmanship and it made the car what it was otherwise it wouldnt be special... copying it is just a waste of time in my eyes going to that extent for everyone to just think its someone elses car ??

Look it this way, if your "idea" is taken and replicated you must be doing something right.

P.S You still havent answered my question. What was made first? How old is stantons?

Jake, i dont know you personally but I really think you need to stop being such a c*ck and get over yourself! From what ive seen in your build thread and your posts you tend to ask people for constructive criticism and when you dont like what you hear you get on your high horse and throw all your toys out of the pram! If someone wants to 'copy' somebody else then let them, who says you make the laws of what can and cant be done?! Oh and just some constructive criticism for you, I dont like your car or what you have planned for it. Not something that will bother you cos you 'welcome all comments positive or not' right mate????!

lmfao no worries mate!

It's ok, you have been really original with them rs8 wheels? I hear there quite a rare wheel aren't they?

That is actually one of the funniest comments i have ever heard since being a member on this forum.... why do you read my build thread if you don't like my car? Or do you not like my car that much you read it's feature in PVW?

I can totally see where you are coming from, but it will always happen - people will copy.

Especially If they see cars in magazines.

Plenty of people copy in many ways, for example *cough* bbs *cough*, personally I hate the dub scene, stretching tires and being so low that your car ends up in Australia. I like the performance aspect and will continue to do things slightly different, as different is not necessarily wrong, like sticking to a constant 50mm ID on the inlet side even though VW put pancake pipe in, with various diameter changed before the TB.

But people will always copy and if they do, nothing you can do about it, some people like to do there own thing, others will see something and be like... oh I like that, and will do the same thing, such as 16 year olds buy corsa's and put sh!te on.

Ah well, get a cold beer out bud!
