Someone has done my lights
« on: 13 March 2005, 19:48 »
Ive got a 97 8 Valve GTi..... Which ove only had a week, not even time for a clean and polish and then........

Someone has decided to take their aggression out on her (last night) and have smashed or reversed into both the front headlights and foglights...? Although? I have just bought some new headlamps off ebay (which I probably paid over the odds for, but oh well) im still in need of some new fog lights... If only I could find who done it..

This is my first golf GTi so im not too sure on the configuration....

Both the indicators are both still intact and working... but the fog lights seem to be working but the glass is smashed as you can see below, What do i need to buy as a replacement as on GFS and Euro car parts there seems to be loads listed..... Does anyone know the part numbers for this from GSF or Eurocarparts or somewhere else I might be able to buy standard ones.

Also is there suppose to be anything in the middle as on the left one there seems to be a space for something to screw in...

Thanks in advance

T

Paid 80 quid for VW orginals... Do you think that was a fair price?

nice that would be good...... not to sure if I should be driving around like it though, might attract more attention... need to get it back on the round sooner rather than later as I need it for work....

I take it you can't just get the glass for them....? All the ones that I see for sale seem to be just dummy fog lights not actual working ones...

Now I come to think of it, if someone did actually back into it rather than just smash them is there anything I should be looking out for damage wise?

How much you looking for??

hi
cant help on either of your probs but have some info for ya
the above mentioned "hole for something to be screwed into" is where the tow loop is screwed into
just thought you might want to know
jay
and by the looks of it i would say some little funker has done that on purpose its too precise and there would be a lot of other damage in the same area
ok what girl have you wazzed off, looks like the work of a woman scorned lol

Thats what I thought when I first saw it, although the car looked liked it had been pushed back as it was sitting on the bumper of the car behind, there is a slight dent just under VW badge on the front which I don't remember being there..  I must count myself lucky though as ive just had my Rear pads and discs done so they probably let it move under the impact which may have stopped even more damage....  Ill have to see if anything else is broken once I get the parts to fix it..

As for the women mate, it could be true, but ive only had it five minutes that'll be why they wear high heals these days to inflict such damage, unless it was the ex of the previous owner that saw it......
