Take it back, my halford set has some spark plug bits in there and they fit down to get the old ones out. (mk2 16v) Measure the bore of it then measure some of the others they have in there to get the right one.

Nothing worse then getting back and the tool doesnt work though

yeah i will take it back, the reason I got it was on the Bosh plugs i bought the nut was 14mm I have had a look in my tool set as it has some but again the only 14mm one its just to big to get down the hole,

is 14mm right?

Yup 14mm but you need a thin wall socket rather than standard 14mm socket. I had the same problem with abf. Halfords sell the socket.

^^ Thin wall socket and extension needed, standard plug spanner will not do it.

Never had a problem with my spark plug socket doing 16v engines.
It is skinny, but i thought there was only 2 sizes you could buy?  :undecided:

It's the actual socket thats thin, not the wrench, and yer I used an extension bit aswell. Was there ages trying to get it out before it clicked to use the ht lead

tape the socket to your extension bit too, on some the rocker gasket pokes out round the sparky hole then grips the socket. hey presto pull tool and the socket is left stuck in the hole! kinda mistake u only make once
