My mechanic seems to think it's possible but I'm not sure, is there anything that I should look out for or if anyone has any tips itd be greatly appreciated.. Also doing all the engine mounts too which I've never done before so same applies :)

Cheers boys and girls!

On a valver there is a box on the downpipe that makes it very hard to change without dropping the subframe. On an 8v you can thread it through the top if you take the inlet manifold off.

Engine mounts, me and my dad had an afternoon swearing but did it without taking the engine out just changing one at a time.

The better option is to see if you can get it on a ramp, if so it is easy to do from underneath.

If I got my turbo out you sure as hell can get only your manifold out

Woah cheers for the quick replies.. Sorry it's been while since I've posted in here, the car is an 8v Gti.. It'll be done at my mates garage with ramps etc so hoping it'll be relatively easy, wishful thinking lol.

Are the mounts easily removed or is there some crazy awkward bits that need a bit of nack?
