Car Valuation...
« on: 10 March 2011, 18:07 »
Hi All,

Just some advice. Unfortunately the time has come where it looks like i'm going to have to part company with my beloved Mk5 GTI. Work commitments require a diseasel saloon so im looking at Passat's but i need to sell my car first. Spec & Pics to follow:

2005 (Sept 05') 55-plate
3-Door
Manual
Tornado Red
Cloth Seats
17" Monza's
Front armrest (retro-fitted OEM item)
68,500 miles
Full history (Full VW main dealer up to 50,000)
Cambelt changed at 60,000 (stamp in book but no receipt unfortunately)
12 month MOT
Tax until July 2011

Very well looked after, always kept clean (i wash it 3 times a week in summer) - recently machine polished by myself with some nice wax always kept topped up.

The car was actually featured in this years forum calender as the January car. It is totally standard and original. Here are a few pics:

I've made a couple of interior cosmetic additions such as the clutch footrest and the GTI badges for the recesses on the seat height adjusters/ I've taken the German plates off now for some nice standard ones but will supply the German ones to a buyer.

Car will have another stamp in the book within 500 miles (booked for a week Saturday) at the car's request.

Now, what do you think its worth? What will i get for it?

Many thanks

Jon

They're on pistonheads from between £10-£11k for the same age/mileage.

Might try putting it up for £9,750 and see if i get any interest.

Is this reasonable?
