thing is i have a recipt that he has writen and signed saying its a 1.6., all the documents state its a 1.6 the police told me, i definatly can take him to the small claims court for false advertising, and get trading standards involved
Yes and no, your dealing with a private seller, my view would be your facing a uphill battle to prove he was aware that something was amiss, it may be the case he never knew.
the car is deffinatly a 1.6 se shell, maybe the trims was sprayed silver, or the doors and bumpers are off a gti?
but the car is definatly a 1.6, as multiple chassis numbers match the documents
How odd, I guess then someone got it cheap with no engine, then fitted a 2.0 to make a quick buck.
private sale but it was on ebay so seller hasnt a leg to stand on really, as long as it wasnt sold outside of it
it was bought on ebay, the car was advertised for £1950 or best offer, i offererd £1750, i thought that was a decent price for what i was getting, with the new wheels, milage and condition of the car. The offer was accepted within 20 mins, i then traveled £150 miles to pick it up, payed £20 for one day insurence to get it home, got home payed £200 to update my insurence , took it to the garage had some spark plugs fitted for £20, as the car was spluttering, and this aint including the petrol money it cost to get there and 2 cars back.
whats done is done now, let the police take the car, i'll take him to court, only thing in the mean time is im gunna have to buy a 1.0 rusty old metro, or simular, till i get my cash back, or save up for another.
