Nope it wouldn't fit. The 1.6 dosnt have the inlet like that.

get in contact with these people if the guy wont take the car back http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/ because u have the advert it is wrongly advertised and u have case for a claim. but they will tell u everything u need to know

unfortunatly we have just found out the engine is stolen, the car will be seised tonight, as the last poster said, i do have rights to claim, as it was false advertising, and i have the recipt from seller saying 1.6 golf.

Good job we found this out, if we had an accident, our insurence would of been void, and sh!t would of got a whole lot worse

only thing is , im now stuck with no car or cash to buy one, gutted

how did you pay for the car? did police offer any advice.

i paid cash in hand for the car, £1750, also cost me £40 to get there and £30 back in petrol costs.
it just gets worse, i hope none of you have to through this
and next time, i ask for advice on buying a car on here i get the same 8 pages , worth of advice lol

its my car as it stands, untill the police take it, just the engine belongs to someone else
