Neuspped or Eibach ARBs
« on: 11 March 2005, 10:26 »
Hi guys
This is my first post on this forum so be gentle

Anyway - Ive decided not to lower my new GTi and go for uprated ARBs first off. Was gonna fit Eibach but then someone mentioned Neuspeed are actually stiffer and better. Is that true?  :undecided:

you can get a thicker rear bar from Neuspeed

neuspeed are more expensive also

i had the Eibachs on my old 16v and they were amazing, so much so that im after a set for my latest 16v

i wouldnt say Neuspeed are nessecarily better they just offer a bit more variety on stiffness, but the Eibach kit is a very good balance

the neuspeed ones are available in different thicknesses so you could dial in the amount of stiffness you want i suppose, but i'd go for lowering the car before fitting the arb's.

Gambit, i heard they can make the ride a bit harsh, mines pretty low on coilovers so isn't the smoothest ride at the best of times just wondered what set up you had and what the ride was like?

My golf is on standard suspension I would be very interested in any comments about how uprated arb's affect the ride, is it a harsher ride or does that only come with lowering a car.

when i first put them on my old 16v i to was running std 16v shocks & springs. the difference it made was unreal. you dont lose any comfort at all with the arb's but the turn in on the car was amazing with them. you could just chuck into roundabouts and fast corners. i then coupled it together with Eibach springs and gas shocks and it made it even better.

if im honest my new 16v wouldnt touch the old one handling wise. and my new one is running 55/40 bilstein setup - hence why im after a new of arb's for it!!
