vr6 water pump belt

5:30 this morning,in the cold :((

driving to work,noticed a smelly burning rubber kind of smell,and then battery started flashing

water temp was ok cos outside is minus 1 or 0

power steering totaly went

so over to side of road

opened bonnet pitch black feeling around the alternator i found the belt,in pieces

getting car towed home soon and getting new belt from the motor/halfords type place here

12.80 euros not to bad at all

how hards it to fit though,seen a few pictures around on t'net but they all have air con,mine dont have air con

Pretty easy to fit once you know the belt arrangement.
One thing that caught me out was the tensioner, you need to wind in an M8 bolt into the tensioner body to get the belt on.

ok great,i read that i need a m8 so i got one from work,just waiting for misses to get home now so we can go get the new belt

got a new belt

but just looked and the tensioner pulley wheel is melted bad and just looks like it exploded and turned to dust

does anyone have a tensioner they can sell me or just the wheel
