« on: 26 May 2003, 03:55 »
could somebody please tell me what makes a fire&ice model, the reason i ask is i bought an 8v gti h reg and was told it was completely std ,but when i whent to see the car it had diff alloys on to what i had normally seen, I was not bothered because they looked ok . but when i whent down to my local german auto spares they said it was a fire&ice model . it has estoril alloys, half smoked rear lenses pinstriped seats &smoked indicators, i would just like to know the official specs of these models. cheers ::)

Hi ddubya

JV wrote an article a while back on the Fire & Ice model.  8) You can find it by clicking the link below.  Perhaps you could take some pictures and post them on the forum.

i,ve had a look on the web site you suggested, i don,t think mine is an official fire&ice but mine has nearly all the features listed except the pink/purple seats. thanks for that anyhow, cheers

Hello everyone, this my first post so please be gentle... :embarassed:

I'm trying to do some research into the fire and ice model and well, theres not much about. I was wondering if anyone knew how you would tell a genuine G60 from a conversion. Is there a check you can do with VW ? I guess its quite cheap to do the conversion and significantly boost the value of the car if you sell it to someone like me who doesn't know what to look for ! !

to my knowledge, fire and ice models had estorils, a nasty pink and purple interior, purple paint and fire and ice logo's on the c-pillar and i think on the bonnit. i guess any genuine g60 would be left hand drive, any conversion done over here would probably be a right hand drive.
but gambit has the definitive way of finding out!!

i think it would take a fair bit of effort to fake a fire+ice. why would someone bother anyway, it's not as if they are worth a lot?!

Met a guy in Nottingham with one of these Fire & Ice G60s in his garage today.

Was having lots of work done to it including a 16vSupercharged engine put into it

Like the colour of the body, didn't see the seats but having checked them out on the link
Pass me the bucket

Cool car all the same
