Course it'll start.  :smiley:

Looks good mate, stupid working for a living getting in the way of tinkering with cars. However congrats on the job, gold coins buy shiny things :cool:

Cheers bud :)

Shockingly, a small update. Getting a bit ridiculous really, should've finished this weeks ago!

A previous owner had a stainless exhaust system fitted and they bolted it through the boot floor for some reason, result --> ripped a hole in it a little while ago, so welded that up;

Also decided to port out the throttle body a little to improve the flow by a miniscule amount :tongue:

Pretty close now though

Cheers guys, porting was done with a carbide bit in a drill, then sanded down to smooth out, though it still needs a little bit of finishing off.

Yeah that engine bay you could eat your dinner off. Hats off. Don't over polish the TB as it'll hamper fuel atomisation, need to retain a 'honed' surface, helps to keep the fuel in suspension.

So, fitted the throttle body last night, primed the oil pump, put the distributor in and turned the key ..... spins over nicely, but doesn't even try and fire :( off on holiday for a few days so will have to do some investigating when I get back.

Preliminary findings, before disconnecting battery and packing for holiday, were that fuel pump primes, but car doesn't stink of fuel out the exhaust after cranking so reckon the problem is at the fuel rail. Also, the ISV makes a lot of noise, not just the humming they are meant to make. Put a spare one on it and this hums nicely, but makes a loud clicking every few seconds. Two knackered isv's or dodgy wiring? hmmmm
