Head and injector help please!

hello!!!   

im having a little problem with a engine i bought at the weekend,

the current engine in the car is a 1800cc 8v digifant engine, ith the small problem of a head gasket! :rolleyes:
the engine i have bought is a k-jet 1800cc 8v, im not sure if the head is the same??? as im was just planning on swapping my injection system over to the engine i bought!

if there is any differences and anything else any of you might think i might need to know i would be very greatful!!!!

Kjet head and block are different :sad:.
You can make the block fit but there is no provision for fitting the knock sensor and the head wont take the digi injectors.
Why not fix the head gasket or look for the correct engine. Hope this helps.

I think you can get the digi injectors to fit by removing the old inserts and fitting digijet ones.  Don't quote me on that though!

But if you're going to swap the bottom end, surely its time to fit a 2ltr block ;)

rubjonny is correct, you can fit inserts to make the injectors fit, but there are no lugs on the head casting to bolt the fuel rail to.

Just picked a 2.0 8v engine up today :laugh:
it came out of a passat, the wiring is the same as the 1.8 so all i need is a chip for the ecu to correct the fueling ect, which im picking up on monday night!! :cool:
also i bought a gas flowed head, cam, and a spare bottom end to go get lightened and balanced! :cool:
so the old head gasket was a good thing to break in the end!!!!! lol
