Buy a SAAB then with it's magic "turn all the interior lights off except the speedo" switch.
That is a trick wee touch, one of those "I shouldn't be impressed, but I totally am" moments
Retro fitting into a VW would be pretty tidy, might have a crack at that when I do the dash on mine.
