Hi all, sorry for my first post to be a tech query. I've posted on a few forums and got no response.
I know a lot of people would be of the opinion 'just buy a VR6 model' but I have the perfect shell and wheels, so this is the route I'm going to be taking. I've put a VR6 into a mk2 before so the conversion itself doesn't worry me, but there are a few loose ends i'm unsure of when swapping from a mk3 into a mk3 (vento)!
Namely, immobiliser, I know that the transponder ring needs to be swapped, but that appears to plug into a siemens branded box along with another part of the loom. Do I need to transfer this box, transponder ring and the other part of the loom into my car to prevent the immobiliser from cutting in?
And how do I remove the hydro pedal box and put it into my car, theres an awful load of stuff going on under that dash brace bar and I can't see what to remove!
Thanks for any help, its much appreciated!

Welcome to the forum.

Have a read of this thread: http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=124485.0

I believe all he pedal boxes are the same so you can put the hyd cylinder in your old pedal box.

Thank you for that! The first reply to any of my threads on this topic! And thanks for the link/
I'm certain it'll be much easier when I've got both cars side by side ready to swap everything over, rather than now just thinking about things. I had been tempted to just get the immobilizer removed from the ecu but with a recent spate of car crime in my area, I really would prefer it on. Any more advice much appreciated, the more I know the better!
