hi i have a mk1 1.3 year 83, i brought a servo and calipers from a mk2 golf gti 8v and the calipers will never fit , and i havent tried fitting the servo yet , what other options are there and whats the correct things to buy ?

i assume you bought 239mm calipers? if so make sure they're stamped 'VWII' if they are then you need to get MK1 1.5-1.8 carriers then they'll bolt on. servo you want a 9" one from any MK2 1.8 model, servo get a 22mm 16v/g60 one. you need to cut the thread down on the mk2 servo, and fit the mk1 servo clevis pin to it.
