2.8 v6 4motion
« on: 27 February 2011, 18:04 »
Anyone got one? Saw one today really like the look of them. I currently have a 1.8t 150bhp, and i belive the v6's are 200bhp standard? i could have my 1.8t remapped but would like to keep the engine standard. And also like the idea of 4wd, was playing considering a subaru but it will more than likely blow up and they are so common. Also looked at a BMW E36 328, but would rather keep VW :)

Anything to look out for on the v6's?

The Clio didn't as it's naturally aspirated and French

The engine is more than capable of taking a stage 1 map - all the audis/ seats have the same engines as VW with more BHP as standard because they use a differant map. (and turbo etc in some of them)
Get it remapped

IIRC the V6 come in 170 bhp and 200 bhp flavours  :undecided:

I though it was the v5 that came with the choice of 150bhp or 170bhp :/ may be wrong tho.

And i get my insurance quite cheap as my mum works for an insurance company, but they are not to keen on power increasing modifications so don't really want to play with the engine to much. was thinking a v6 4motion on coilovers would be quite good, 200bhp and 4motion lowered should go quite well :)

You seem to forget that the V6 will be nearly double in fuel costs to run, your better to stick with the 1.8t, the V6 may be 200bhp but is not interesting to drive, more of a long distance tourer than a GTI

Maybe not double but 4cyl will always be much better on fuel, V6 will be 14 to 16 around town and on a run the drag of the 4wd will pull it back to 26/27

Yes but that will not happen much in day to day use your looking at 20mpg as a average.
