can someone do a quick ETKA part # look up for me please..

part is.. Idle Stablisation Valve for a 1997 MK3 Golf GTI 16v. ABF engine.


via the exploded diagrams its goes into an inlet on the very front of the manifold in the very middle.


VW won't give out the part number over the phone..

I got given a number from a breakers yesterday which is 037 986 457 D

-however- this doesnt match the one for the valve that is on my car. (i think it ended in E?)


so either the breakers got it wrong, or my car has the wrong one.

hmm a colleague remote connected to his home PC with ETKA set up...

the part # we found via that is 037 906 457 D

notice the 986 change to 906...


i'm sure part num on my car is different......

the ISV on my car says...... 037 133 443A? ?(bntw not sure the first '4' is really a 4.. not accurate..)

hmmm...so its got a different one?



of even more interest is the fact that the mk2 golf ISV code is 037 906 457 C


so here's a run down...

037 906 457 D? - what ETKA says should be on my car
037 906 457 C? ?- MK2 Golf
037 133 443 A? - whats on my car!


guy at breakers seems to think the one on my car is from an Audi 80 16v.
