Launch Control - Wont work!
« on: 25 February 2011, 20:58 »

Hi all, taking aside the so called reliability issues with using launch control out of the conversion.  Why can't I get it to work?

1.  I turn off traction control
2.  Put it in sport
3.  Put foot on brake
4.  Put foot down on the accelerator....

And it revs normally and pulls against the brake.

Any ideas?

Proper procedure is:-

Dip clutch.
Put into first gear.
Let out clutch while controlling throttle.
Away you go.

Did you let the car get to operating temperature, it won't work when cold AFAIK

Not slagging off, just banter.

Seriously though, VW have probably disabled  launch control until the engine is hot enough to cope with the added stresses.

Bad, bad, bad to thrash a cold engine.
