Right well been in and out of dubs since 06, had a 2.0 gti

mk4, then a 1.8t a3 , then a corrado 1.8t, so it would only be right to have a mk4 1.8t! after looking for ages found this one 25 miles away!, picked it up just before christmas heres the spec:

2001 AUM 1.8t
LC6X colour
3 door
103,000 FSH
Recaro interior
Standard in every way

The bargain price of £1671! thanks ebay auction ending at 6.30 am ! H

Heres the day i picked it up

First on the list was a camblet, as it hadnt been done since 50k ,for some odd reason

got a mate to do it who works at VW, he didnt change the hydraulic tensioner, wound her over, seemed fine, then when he started it bang! 6 engine valaves and 4 exhaust bent, plus new piston crown! not a good start!

3 months down the line and she has a 66k AUM in her! back on the road! day i got it back from the garage , was so happy!

In the three months id accumulated a few bits for it as follows:

Forge 007p
Front and rear aero wipers
8000k HID conversion Kit
Bora sport Gear knob
Remap paid for at Dg Autotech
Sharan Aerial
TT pedal Covers
And the all important richbrook air freshner!

Fitting the HIDS first time ive done it, didnt think it was too bad!

New engine, gave it a clean after, will post a pic later !

All done!

people say 800k is really blue, but i dont see the difference between 6000 and 8000k!

After a wash

Then it was remap time, went to DG auto tech in kidderminster, £200 inc VAT with a check over and diagnostic run !

Also de-badged the rear as looks better IMO

really pleased with the end result, goes well, and mpg is up!

To come in the next few weeks:

New Mats
Proper clay and wax
ECS N75 valve
polish inlet manifold more
Rotiform 18's
Coilovers

Bit of an update, gave the engine bay another really good clean last night, looks spot on now, starting on the inlet manifold too,

TT pedals are in after some swearing! and finished off the debading on the back, also fitted my aerial! pics to follow!

Well not much of an update really,

Fitted my wind deflectors, (cheers andy spot on!)

Put silicone on the grommet for the rear wiper and blanked off the jet hose

Cleaned out the purge tank and breather on the fuel tank, wire brushed up rear drivers side caliper ready to take off and paint on the weekend

Admired the back of her now de wipered and de badged .......................clean and a polish / wax coming on the weekend dont worry! our farm drive is filthy and dusty!

Update, yes i know no pictures but have just been so busy as of late!

Fitted my Milltek Discreet, Sounds awesome!

Fitted BBS LMs with two new front tyres

Suspension has come (FK's)

Panel Filter is here !

Breather Hoses ready to go on!

Carbon wrapped both door handles,

Fitted TT foot rest

Right as promised, been doing a fair bit in the past few weeks to the car, ill start from where i think was the first add on!

Changed the horrible wood gear knob for a standard tdi one

Then i got my aluminium trim fitted properly (thanks Hulmie!)

Next i saw simon20vt on here had a 1.8t breaking not too far away so 2 weeks ago i made a trip to walsall and bought a fair bit!

TT foot rest to go with my pedals

Milltek discrete cat back , one pipe is slightly squashed but its all good!

had that fitted by my mate , sounds awesome

Next on the list id seen on here some BBS Lm reps on a car for sale that wasnt budging, so made the lad an offer of my standard 16" wheels and £350 notes,

Road tripped it to Newbury one saturday, found two tyres wer near the limit , one had a nail in it and the other was flat!

In the end came away with the wheels for £300! not bad at all as their immaculate , two new tyres later and they wer on!

The next week was pay day, and as id paid off the garage bill (£1668) for my engine change, i decided to buy a few parts from awesome: K & N panel filter, FK coilover kit, and a breather hose set

on went the filter

gave the air box a good clean out aswell

and ofcourse!

Then i had a go at fitting the breather hoses as the one had been split a good month! didnt have the right size clips, so these had to do for now!

Suspension was then fitted this weekend by my mate at VW , hes pretty good was done in 2 and a bit hours!

Then today after a long days work with a killer hangover i treated her to a good clean, and some Whoring!

Not really much else to happen , got the other breather hose to fit as i ran out of time, a good interior clean and want to try and polish my inlet manifold, GTI international isnt far away id like a bonnet bra for it by then ,and maybe some dished spacers!

Ordered a few bits yesterday as it was payday, By the weekend i should have:

Genuine Anni Armrest
Illuminated Bora Vents
Blue PCV Boost hose for 007p and Fuel lines
New Tailoured Floor Mats
A Shed load of cleaning stuff, mainly Auto Glym and Meguiras !

Right bit of an update of what ive been up to with the car, mainly tidying bits up!

Secured my footrest with another self tapper, took all the silicone that someone had glued it with off, and cleaned it! alot more sturdy now
