Just in case you were wondering - I wasn't the expert who supplied info for the article! I just turned up with the car at the photo studio

I believe the expert was Volkswizard..

I had a bit of a facepalm moment when I read the 8v torque comment.

Car is looking good now mate :) Unless that's the effects of photoshop

Photoshop cures all sins... though they didn't photoshop-out the slight dent in the lower rear quarter..

Nice one Tony, how did you get involved in that mate, hope the cars coming together, yet to fit window motor and mech

Thanks

There was a request for a standard-ish MK2 on the MK2 owners club for the featue about 4 or 5 months ago... I don't think it was orginially going to be a GTI article, so not sure what changed. I sent a few photos over and a link to my project thread, and that was it!

I've just had my door card off AGAIN today to do my window mech again! It was in storage for 4 weeks, and the window had stopped working. All sorted again now and plenty of grease this time.. I swear Golfs are more reliable the more you use them.

I got to keep the photos as well - all the detailed jpgs. The photographer was pretty sound too and had quite a lot of stories to tell - and he used to have MK2 GTIs back in the day.
