mk2 wiring problem
« on: 22 February 2011, 22:33 »
In the middle of a 1.8 20vt project and it started for the first time yesterday. Was putting the dash back in today and and was putting the light switch back in on the right hand side of the dash and it sparked when I pressed it by accident and now it wont start. Does that sound like a fuse gone? Any help would be great I have no idea what im doing at all.
Cheers
Ross

Yes check fuses if not you may have burnt some wiring.

Thanks Wayne appreciate it. If I have burnt some wire would it be close to where the sparks were or could they be anywhere?

Could be anywhere, start at the switch and work back.

if it is a swich/switch wiring problem you could prove the continuity of them all with a multimeter.test them from the switch plug to the plug at fuseboard end to make sure one didnt burn out. also check other fuses because they may be fused separately?
