Should have said mine is an 85 plate.
I've been a target for 'halfords spec' saxos for almost three years now!

Thanks Chris,

This made me get out my handbook to see if mine is working correctly and...it is. Just to clarify, the rocker switch on the top to activate the CC brings the light on the dash but hitting the brake doesn't extinguish the light (no clutch, DSG model). I have a 56 plate.

BTW Sussex here too.

They must have changed it at some point. I drove a passat that was set up like yours. As long as you know what your own one does I guess it doesn't matter.

Hi folks

thank you for your advice on this. it is the ccs light that is on and i must have turned it on when indicating.

just to clarify i did only start to notice it when parking up but im sure it was before that.

my car is also a 56 plate and when i touch the brakes it doesnt go off ki havfe to turn it off manually on the stalk.

so chaps how do i set up this ccs then?

Hi Yosin,

Page 125 of your driver manual gives you a better description than I can but as other posters have mentioned it will give you a consistent speed once you have set it. Best to try on the motorway or dual carriageways rather than around town where it is of little use.

Have fun!

There was a change over of how the CC works I think it was 07, early cars you flicked the rocker switch across to activate the light and CC on later cars the switch was flicked across but nothing came on until you hit a certain speed then it would go off if you pushed the brakes or clutch.
