G60 flywheel/VR6 clutch issues
« on: 22 February 2011, 10:03 »
Well I have had the setup on the car for roughly 10-11k now and the clutch is starting to slip

Car drives fine, goes up hills in 4th/5th, its only when it comes on boost that it slips like a muthaf**ka to the redline (most of the time). It got considerable worse in one day when I went for a 2 hour round trip to St Austell with 4 of us in the car; I didn't really hammer it either.

Checked for any signs of oil around the box/engine join and nothing, although that was a week ago now. Not sure if its got something to do with the clutch cable (as I run the hydro to cable conversion on the 02A box). Adjusted it a little, but will be adjusting it a lot more later to see how that goes.

The guys at JKM who rolling roaded it beginning of this month said they didn't notice anything wrong with the clutch, although it was slipping a little in 5th on the up there (and back). They said they only noticed the boost fluctuate - DV?

Seems odd that it would go so soon, I don't give the car too much regular abuse, a lot of the miles are sensible.

Just wondered if anyone else with this setup has had clutch slip this quick?

I slackened the clutch cable...........

.........Sorted.

:D WTF, knew it would be simple!

I don't drive like I stole it all the time, just sometimes lol. When its running sweet it should be 240bhp/270ft-lb. I reckon JKM are retards to think it was boost related and the clutch was fine. Was slipping on the way up there and on the way back, might be why it rolled at 230bhp/220ft-lb.
