Anti roll bars?
« on: 21 February 2011, 15:24 »
Had a free suspension check today after hitting any number of bloody potholes recently. Only thing the guy found under the car was some slight movement in one of the anti roll bars (?) He didn't suggest it was vital but might lead to a knocking sound. Anything to worry about in anyones opinion?? Thanks

Could lead to sloppy handling, increased understeer, tyre wear that sort of thing.  That and the knocking will do your head in

Sounds like one of the bushes is worn and needs replacing

Thanks Rhyso. There's not a constant knocking..just a fair old clonk whenever I hit a hole but then I get that in my wifes car as well so maybe it's just one of those things?

I'd suggest avoiding the holes then

You'll always get a twang when hitting something but as long as the noise doesn't continue as you keep going down the road then it should be ok

This time of year always makes me cringe with the state of the roads
