Steering wheel trim

How difficult would it be to change the lower lower insert in the steering wheel? I prefer the look of the new one!

Isn't the badge a fixed part of the bottom spoke?

I'd say that you would need to mask off the "chrome" and apply an etching compound, then primer and finally gloss black

A fiddly job best done with the wheel out of the car?

Personally, I like neither.
The GTI should be in red with a silver (preferred) or black background.

I have the new one, thanks to the stitching coming apart on my original steering wheel. I prefer the look of the new one. It makes the GTI stand out more on it.

Maybe a vinyl wrap of just the GTI logo in red can be accomplished. Will look cool. :lipsrsealed:
