I would spend some time trying to work out exactly what has been done and what needs to be done.

Researching other ITB projects etc to get a better idea on whats involved and see if you can sort it yourself.

No chance of me being able to sort it mate. My mechanical knowledge if minimal and iv had 5 fiestas before the golf so i know them inside out, but not the golf :-( never had itbs on any of my cars either. I was putting bike carbs on a 1.7 puma engine so had a bit of an idea when i was going to do that but after id bought most of the stuff i sold it uncomplete. It looks as though everything needed is there already apart from an aftermarket ecu but id idealy need it to go to someone who has a lot more knowledge with these so i know exactly whats going to need doing, what im going to need to buy if anything and whats sort of costs are involved. Anymore help is much apreciated and sorry for being such a n00b lol!

Don't think MS would be good for a mk4. OEM ECU has more control over vehicle components, and this would be lost. Although it could be done and you probably would need something that could run it in alpha-n mode to get it working properly.

It's also not designed to work in piggyback mode.

Running alpha-n  is only going to remove the maf, but how is it going to fuel on the narrow band? plus the car need to have ref point from tps not just cross over X 0v to 5v scales, but also adpation offsets.  It would be a huge job to write and patch a map to just run a basic TPS scale with out giving and adaption DCT and putting the ecu in to limp mode.

Is a supercharger kit available? Would love that and that might mean a cheap throttle body set up for sale

is there no way you could sell the throttle bodies and junk the ecu and run it on a set of  twin webber carbs instead ?
